LBS Institute of Technology for Women (LBSITW) is managed by LBS Centre of Science & Technology, which is an undertaking of the Government of Kerala. LBS Institute of Technology for Women is located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram at Poojappura. It is affiliated to the University of Kerala, and the courses conducted by it have been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Minimum qualification for admission in BE / B Tech is a pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects.

Selection of the students is based on their ranks in the Entrance Test conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. Since the college is a self-financing college which comes under the control of the government, decision on the admission procedure rests with the government. Enrolment for both the merit quota and management quota is based on the rank secured in the entrance examination. 15% seats are kept aside for the NRIs.
