Jorhat College, located in Jorhat district of Assam, is an aided co-educational institute. The college was incepted in 1962, by the amalgamation of two colleges: Jorhat College and New Jorhat College. The college was previously established as a full-fledged night college by the efforts of some students and teachers of JB College. Later in the early 1980s, after getting recognition from the Govt. of Assam, the college was granted as a Day College. Jorhat College is affiliated to Dibrugarh University and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC). The college offers several undergraduate courses in Arts stream. Besides, the college runs higher secondary courses in these Arts subjects, along with some short-term courses in Computers.
