The candidates should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC / 10+2 examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics securing minimum 50% marks (45% marks for backward class belonging only to Maharashtra state).
NRI candidates passing the HSC (Standard XII) equivalent examination from a school / college / examination board situated outside India shall be further decided by the University Authorities to which the candidate is admitted. The candidate belonging to this type stated is not required to appear for the MHT-CET / AIEEE.
Diploma holders in Engineering / Technology with minimum of 50% marks and medium of instruction as English from the Polytechnics affiliated to MSBTE or AICTE approved autonomous Polytechnics in Maharashtra State (for Maharashtra State Candidates) or such polytechnics situated inside / outside the State of Maharashtra (For Outside Maharashtra State Candidates) are also eligible for admission to the first year of engineering course.

The candidates have to go through MHT-CET / AIEEE conducted by the Director of Technical Education, Mumbai and CBSE Delhi respectively. Number of seats allotted to different Test Qualified candidates separately. (AIEEE/CET (State conducted test /University test/Association conducted test). 65% admissions are done through CET and 15% are conducted through AIEEE. 20% seats are filled by the management. NRI candidates need not to go through MHT-CET or AIEEE. They are admitted up to 15% of the sanctioned intake.
