JIS College of Engineering, one of the premier technical institutes in West Bengal, is located in Nadia. The college was established by Sardar Jodh Singh, a self-build industrialist. The institute runs under the supervision of the JIS Foundation. JIS College of Engineering was set up with the idea of providing high quality technical education and shape up the students to meet the growing needs of the industry. JIS College of Engineering is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology, and has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, for conducting courses in different branches of engineering.

B Tech
Candidates must have passed their Higher Secondary Examination in Science stream or equivalent examination, from a recognized university.
BCA
Applicants must have passed their Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, from a recognized university.
BBA
Minimum qualification required is a pass in the Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent examination, from a recognized Board.
Post Graduate:
M Tech
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field from a recognized university, with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
MCA
Students must have a Bachelor's degree in science stream from a recognized university.
MBA
Applicants need a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate, from a recognized university.

B Tech
Admission is done through West Bengal Joint Entrance Test (WBJEE) for the 80% of the seats and All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for the 10% of the seats. Remaining 10% of the seats are filled through Management quota.

Post Graduate:
M Tech
Enrolment is granted on the candidate's performance in Graduate Aptitude Engineering Test (GATE) or in the admission test, followed by a group discussion and personal interview, which are conducted by the institute.
MCA
Students are admitted based on performance in Joint Entrance for Computer Application (JECA) conducted by West Bengal University of Technology and allotment card from Central Selection Committee for 90% of the seats and the remaining 10% of the seats are filled through Management quota.
MBA
Admission is done on the candidate's performance in Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test (JEMAT)/Common Admission Test (CAT)/Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by West Bengal University of Technology, followed by a group discussion and personal interview.
