Institute for Financial Management & Research, also known as IFMR, is located in Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu. The institute was set up in 1970 by the joint collaboration of ICICI, the House of Kotharis and other major industrial groups. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It is one of the top management institutes in the country.
IFMR Chennai is recognized as 'a social science research institute', by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India and as an ‘institution of national importance’ by the Union Ministry of Finance.
