The establishment of International Institute of Information Technology Bhubaneswar, popularly called IIIT Bhubaneswar, is the result of the efforts taken by the Government of Orissa. The institute has been registered as a Society in 2006. Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, IIIT Bhubaneswar is working under the governance of representatives from the Government of Orissa, and eminent professionals of IT industry. IIIT Bhubaneswar is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Orissa. The college offers B. Tech/B. E in several disciplines and M. Tech in Computer Science course. Provision of conducting Ph. D in Computer Science is also there.

The candidates must have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of study.

The candidates are required to possess B. Tech/B.E degree of any recognized University in related discipline. Or candidate with M.C.A, / M. Sc. (Mathematics)/ M. Sc (Statistics)/ M. Sc (Physics) degree or equivalent degree of any recognized University can also apply.
