Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad was established in the year of 1999 under the guidelines of the UGC act, as a center of excellence in Information Technology and allied areas. The institute was established on the recommendations of National Task Force on IT and Software Development, constituted in 1998.
