Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (IHM) is located in Guwahati, Assam. It was established in 1984 as Food Craft Institute by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The institute became full fledged institute of hotel management in 1995. Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition is affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) Noida, and approved by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Government of Assam.
Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition admits students to its undergraduate degree programmes as well as postgraduate diploma course in hotel management. Apart from these courses, the institute also imparts Craftsmanship Courses and other courses. Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition has a number of modern amenities to ensure smooth conduct of its courses.

The aspirants need to have cleared Graduation in any stream from any recognized University.

The selection of the candidates is based on an All India Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT- JEE) that conducted by National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology. The entrance test is followed by a counseling of the selected candidates.

The aspirants are admitted on the basis of their marks in the qualifying examination and personal interview.
