Institute of Hotel Management Bangalore came into being in 1969 with the name of ‘Food Craft Institute’, but in 1983, it was renamed as ‘Institute of Hotel Management’ or ‘IHM’. The educational institute was established by the joint collaboration of the Government of Karnataka and the Government of India. Institute of Hotel Management Bangalore is affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
To fulfill the educational requirements of young generation, Institute of Hotel Management Bangalore imparts hotel management courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels. Apart from these courses, the institute also admits students to its part time courses, short-term courses, refresher courses and executive development programs. The hotel management institute is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities provided to its students.

The candidates must have passed in Pre-University /10+2 /H.S.C/AISSCE/ or equivalent examination, from any recognized state/national Board.
