Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) is located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. IET Lucknow was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1984. Institute of Engineering and Technology is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, (AICTE), and New Delhi. IET Lucknow is fully financed by the government of Uttar Pradesh and is being administered by IET Society (registered under the Societies Act 1860) through its Board of Governors.
Started in November 1984, Institute of Engineering and Technology Lucknow constituted the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Lucknow University. At the beginning, it offered B.Tech degree in 3 branches of engineering-Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics. Within a year of its inception, two more branches (Civil and Mechanical) were introduced at IET Lucknow.

Candidates who desire to apply for the undergraduate courses must have 10+2 degree with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Undergraduate:
Admissions to this course are made on the basis SEE-UPTU exam held by UP Technical University. Candidates who have passed Diploma in any branch of Engineering with minimum 60% marks from any recognized Institute can get Lateral Entry in the third semester. NRI students with the desired qualifications could get admission on 5% seats.
