Guwahati Academy of Tertiary Education (GATE), located in Guwahati, in Assam, is a self-financing co-educational institute. The college was founded in 2006 as a college of Management and Information Technology, to provide qualitative professional education for the students, living in and around Guwahati. GATE Institute was affiliated to Dibrugarh University in 2008 and later in 2009, the college obtained affiliation to Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) .The college is recognized by the Government of Assam and has national tie-ups with Indian Institute of Hardware Technology (IIHT), Bangalore. further, the college is also affiliated to Sikkim Manipal University and Pantaloon (I) Ltd., Mumbai. Extended over a sprawling campus, GATE Institute conducts undergraduate and post graduate programs like BBA, BCA, B Sc (IT), PGDCA, and PGDTM (Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management). Besides, the college conducts several Diploma and Certificate programs, under the aegis of KKHSOU, IIHT Academy, and Pantaloon Retail (I) Pvt Ltd.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate:
Candidates who have passed the intermediate/10+2 level examination of AHSEC/CBSE, recognized by the State Govt. of Assam, in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible for the BBA course. Those who have completed the same with Mathematics/Statistics/Comp. Arithmetic, as a compulsory subject with 45% marks in aggregate, are eligible for the BCA course. Similarly, candidates who have completed their intermediate in science discipline with 45% marks in aggregate as well as in Physics and Mathematics individually can apply for the B sc (IT) program.
Post Graduate:
Graduates in any discipline from a recognized University with 45% marks in aggregate are eligible for PGDCA program and any graduate can apply for PGDTM program.

Admission of the selected candidates is done on the basis of percentage of marks obtained by them in the 10+2 level and as per the norms of GATE Institute and Dibrugarh University.
