The candidate should have passed 10+2 from CHSE, Orissa or equivalent, with Physics, Mathematics as major subjects and one out of Chemistry/ Computer Science/Biology/Biotechnology as an optional subject of study. The candidates with minimum 60% marks in Diploma in Engineering are admitted into the respective B. Tech programme under lateral entry scheme.

Admissions to 1st year B. Tech programme and under lateral entry scheme are done on the merit basis of Joint Entrance Test (JEE) Orissa. For few reserved seats for admission into 1st year, scores of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by CBSE, New Delhi.
