Established in 1962, Government Medical College Kottayam has been one of the largest and important medical colleges of India, ever since its inception. The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Athirampuzha. The institute is also recognized by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Medical College Kottayam is persistently in the course of action, by means of upgrading its facilities and services.
Advanced imaging facilities and sophisticated equipment for a technologically competent, at the same time humane health care has already been established in Government Medical College Kottayam. Being a hundred percent subsidized institution, the college depends totally on government grants for its budgetary bearing. Over the passing years, the campus has expanded and it has now been developed into a little community with all the modern facilities that are required for the smooth conduct of the courses.
