Government Medical College & Hospital Chandigarh (Punjab) is been managed and run by the Department of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh Administration. Established in 1991, the medical college is affiliated to Panjab University. The college has been approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi and recognized by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
Government Medical College Chandigarh works with an aim of becoming a center of excellence for medical education. For the purpose, it provides the best facilities to its students. The candidates must have passed in the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 50% marks, from any recognized Board.

To be eligible, the aspirant should have completed MBBS, from any recognized University.

The candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the Common Entrance Test (PUCET), conducted by the Panjab University.

The admission of the candidates is based on the entrance test conducted by Panjab University, for MD/MS courses.
