Government Engineering College Wayanad is one of the premier institutes for professional courses, in the state of Kerala. Set up in 1999, the college offers undergraduate courses in a number of branches of engineering. The college is located in a very serene environment near Mananthavady, which is its added advantage.
Affiliated to Kannur University, Government Engineering College Wayanad conducts courses that have been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Applicants who have passed the pre-degree examination of the universities in Kerala state with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, or any other equivalent examination can apply. Criterion of the minimum marks is 50% but the threshold is lowered for the candidates belonging to the OBC and SC/ST categories. Applicants having diploma in engineering are also eligible.

Selection depends on the rank in the Engineering entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Thiruvananthapuram. Engineering diploma holders can get admission in the third semestar via Lateral Entry.
