The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects with at least 50% marks. Candidates having 3 year diploma in engineering with the minimum 50% marks in the final examination can also get through. Candidates belonging to backward classes need only 45% marks, while applicants from SC/ST category need just a pass in the qualifying examination.
