Government College of Engineering Kannur or GEC Kannur is an institute of higher technical education in Kerala. Set up in 1986, the college conducts undergraduate courses in several branches of engineering. Foundation of the college was laid by former Chief Minister of Kerala – K Karunakaran. Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Govt College of Engineering Kannur is affiliated to Kannur University.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate:
Candidates who have passed the pre-degree examination of the universities in Kerala state with mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects, or any other examination accepted as equivalent, are eligible. Threshold of minimum marks is 50%, but to the OBC and SC/ST candidates, the parameter is lowered to 45%. People with diploma in engineering can also apply. The threshold of marks is the same. Only the students who are native of Kerala are eligible for admission (with some aberrations).
