Government Arts College, situated at Paramakudi, in Ramnad district of Tamil Nadu, is a co-educational institute, run by the Govt of Tamil Nadu. The college was established in the year 1995 with the affiliation to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. The college was started with the objective of offering qualitative academic facilities, specifically for socially and economically backward students of Ramnad and its nearby areas. Later in 2003-2004, the college became a constituent college of Alagappa University. Govt Arts College Paramakudi offers various undergraduate and post graduate programmes in Science and Commerce faculties.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate:
Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination, or its equivalent, in any subject from Tamil Nadu State Board of Education or its equivalent are eligible for the B Com/BBA programmes offered here. Those who have completed the same in science subjects are eligible for the B Sc courses.
Post Graduate:
Graduates in relevant science subjects can apply for M Sc course offered here. However, graduates in any discipline can apply for the MBA programme.
