DVR College of Engineering & Technology is located in Medak district in Andhra Pradesh. The college started operating in the academic year 1997-1998. The institute is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, (JNTU), Hyderabad. The college has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, for conducting courses in engineering. The qualification for the BE programmes is a pass in Intermediate (10+2) conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized. The candidate must have studies Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects.

Admissions to the college are made through a Common Entrance Test (EAMCET), conducted by Government of Andhra Pradesh. 75% seats are filled by convener while 25% are reserved for management quota where candidates from other states can seek admissions based on their AIEEE rank or 10+2 marks.
