Established in 1952, the college is a constituent part of and affiliated to University of Delhi, popularly known as DU. One of the most popular evening colleges, Deshbandhu College (Evening) is for women. The college offers opportunity for working candidates to pursue their studies along with their work.
Deshbandhu College (Evening) was established by the Ministry of Rehabilitation, in the memory of very renowned patriot - Lala Desh Bandhu Gupta. The college became a constituent part of Delhi University in 1958. Although originally run by Ministry of Education, the college has been administered by Delhi University since 1972. In 1994, for the first time the college opened doors for female candidates. Deshbandhu College (Evening) for women is equipped with all state- of-the-art facilities.
