Debraj Roy College, located in Golaghat district of Assam, is an aided co-educational institute. The college was established in 1949 as Golaghat College to cater to the sheer needs of higher education post independence, among the people of Assam. Later in 1952, the college was renamed as Debraj Roy College to pay tribute to Late Debraj. DR College is affiliated to Dibrugarh University and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC). In 2010, the college was awarded with Potential of Excellence by UGC for its fairly good record of academic excellence through the years. The college offers undergraduate courses in various Arts subjects. Besides, the college also conducts higher secondary programs in Arts and Science subjects and career-oriented courses in Pisciculture, Food Processing, Photography, and Electronics, financed by UGC.

Candidates who have passed the intermediate/10+2 level examination of AHSEC/CBSE, recognized by the State Govt. of Assam, in any discipline are eligible for the BA courses offered here. Those who have completed the same in science subjects are eligible for the B.Sc courses offered here.
