Co-operative Institute of Technology is located in Vadakara in Kozhikode District of Kerala. The institute was set up by the Government of Kerala in 1999, under the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education. The institute imparts undergraduate level courses in several branches of engineering. The college is soon going to start MCA programme. The institute is affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). Courses offered by Co-operative Institute of Technology have been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Applicants, who have passed higher secondary examination, Kerala or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together, are eligible for admission. People with Diploma in Engineering are also eligible.

Admission is done on the basis of the rank of the candidates in the Common Entrance Test conducted every year, by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. Candidates having diploma in engineering are offered admission under lateral entry scheme. 10% of the seats are kept for lateral entry.
