Brahmo Primary Teachers Training Institute was established in 1920 in Kolkata, West Bengal, with the primary aim of imparting quality education to women in the region. Many prominent leaders including Raja Ram Mohan Ray, Maharshi Debendranath Tagore, Sri Sibnath Sastri, Sri Ananda Mohan Bose, Sri Gurucharan Mahalanabis, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Prof Prasanta Chandra Mahalanbis and Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose were associated with the institution, during the period of its establishment. The institute offers two years of Diploma in Education programme. To conduct the course, Brahmo Primary Teachers Training Institute is affiliated to West Bengal Board of Primary Education and is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
