Birla Institute of Applied Sciences is located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. The college is one of the integral parts of G. P. Birla Group of Industries. The institute was affiliated to Kumaun University, but, from 2006 onwards, it is affiliated to Uttaranchal Technical University. Birla Institute of Applied Sciences imparts undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering (Bachelor of Technology) and computer applications (Master of Computer Applications) respectively. All these courses are duly approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, New Delhi. Birla Institute of Applied Sciences is spread over 10 hectares of land and it provides all the basic amenities to its students.
