Bhopal Engineering College, also called BEC Bhopal, was established in July, 1986 with the approval of the Government of India as Government Engineering College, Bhopal. It has been declared autonomous by the State Government of Madhya Pradesh and is renamed as Bhopal Engineering College (BEC). The college is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal.
Bhopal Engineering College accepts hundreds of students each year into its various undergraduate courses. BEC has occupied it's new 225 acre campus at Gandhi Nagar, a developing residential area of Bhopal and is further increasing its influence in the engineering stream. The college imparts engineering courses at the undergraduate level to its students.

The candidates should have secured 60 percent or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 level.

All the relevant admissions are made through Pre Engineering Test (PET). Subsequently, on the basis of the candidates’ performance on the PET s/he may be eligible for admission to the First Semester of the B.E. Degree Course.
