Bankura Sammilani Medical College, which is located in Bankura (West Bengal), is one of the oldest medical colleges in India. It was started in 1956 by Bankura Sammilani Trust. In 1961, the college was taken over by the Government of West Bengal. The college is affiliated to University of Calcutta and approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI), Government of India, New Delhi.
