Located 30 km north of capital city Guwahati, in Agdala village, Baihata Chariali B.Ed College is the only college of education in the north eastern district of Kamrup. The college was established in 1994 by a group of social workers, with an objective of promoting educational development in the region by providing trained manpower supply to teaching profession. The college, which was initially functioning from a temporary site, was shifted to its permanent location in 1996. Baihata Chariali B Ed College is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi. The college, spread over an area of 9010 sq mt, is affiliated to Guwahati University and provides all the necessary facilities, which help in the smooth conduct of the course.
