Army Institute of Technology, popularly known as AIT, is a prestigious institution for science and technology, located in Pune - an education hub of Maharashtra. The college, which came into existence in August 1994, holds the distinction of being one of the leading engineering institutions in the entire India. AIT Pune has acquired certification of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), for its high standard of education.

The candidate must be a child of one of Serving Army Persons / Ex-Army personnel / Ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge / release after 10 years of service / War widow. Children of only those ex Army medical officers / Army Dental medical officers who are presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for 10 years.
The candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together at one and the same sitting. He / She should have secured minimum 50% marks (combined total).

Admissions at AIT are based on the rank obtained in the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE). The AIEEE Roll No must be mentioned on the AIT Application Form before submitting it to AIT. Failure to do so would result in rendering the form null and void. Shortlisted candidates are called for counseling.
