Examination Pattern for WBJEE



West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board conducts West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) for the candidates, who desire to seek admission in Engineering / Technology / Medical / Dental / Veterinary and Pharmacy programs offered at numerous institutions across the state, at undergraduate level. Also, in order to pursue B. Arch Course offered by Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur and Jadavpur University the candidates are required to appear for this entrance test.
 
Examination Pattern for WBJEE
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is among the most competitive entrance examinations of the state. For admission into Engineering and Technology, B.Arch., Dairy Technology, Agricultural Engineering, and Pharmacy courses, the candidates are required to appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics examination test. The candidates, who desire to seek admission into Medical, Dental, and Pharmacy courses have to qualify Biological Science, Physics and Chemistry test. The aspirants appearing for both the groups have to appear for all the four examinations.
 
The entrance examination is divided into four sections as follows:
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
 
The entrance examination is conducted in three shifts. The first shift includes Physics and Chemistry examination, while the second and third consist of mathematic and biology entrance paper, respectively. The marks allotted to Physics and Chemistry examination separately is 50, while Mathematics and Biology section consists of 100 marks each. The duration of each shift is two ours.
 
80% of entrance examination comprises of multiple choice objective questions, while 20% consists of short answers. Negative marking is there for objective questions. For every wrong answer one-third (33.33%) marks are deducted from the marks allotted for the particular question. More than one answer indicated against a question results in negative marking. No marks are deducted for not attempting the question.
