Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination (TNPCEE) is conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu for admission into Medical, Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Dental, Nursing, Agriculture, Homeopathy, Forestry, and Fisheries Sc, and Veterinary Sc, programs at undergraduate level. The scores of the test are accepted by various Government, Government Aided and Private Professional Colleges (self-financing colleges) of the state.
Examination Pattern
Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination (TNPCEE) is conducted for admission into various programs. The entrance examination consists of six papers. The candidates have to appear in these papers according to the program they aspire to study. The six papers consists of
- Biology
- Physical Sciences (Questions in Physics and Chemistry)
- Mathematics
- Related Subjects (For Vocational stream candidates)
- Vocational Subjects (For Vocational stream candidates)
- Aptitude Test in Architecture (Compulsory for B. Arch. candidates)
Each paper possesses objective questions with multiple options. For Medical program, the candidates are required to appear in first two papers, while for admission in Engineering and Technology program; one has to qualify second and third paper. Each paper consists of 50 marks. The candidates are selected as per their marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology obtained in qualifying examination and in the TNPCEE exam. The weight age given to qualifying examination is twice to entrance examination.
