Assam JAT, which is also known as Assam Joint Admission Test, is conducted by the Director of Technical Education (DTE), Assam. It conducts entrance test for admission to various undergraduate programs in the field of engineering, medical, dental and ayurvedic, of the colleges as well as in the NIT, Guwahati quota. The entrance test is conducted every year at the venue decided by the DTE, Assam.
Eligibility
The Director of Technical Education, Assam, has set several rules and regulations regarding eligibility for Assam Joint Admission Test. The admission seekers have to clear all the below mentioned eligibility requirements to appear in the competitive entrance test.
- The candidate should be above 17 years of age and must be a resident of the state of Assam.
- The candidates need to have cleared Higher Secondary Certificate Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council or its equivalent, from any recognized state/national Board.
- The qualifying examination must be passed by the candidates with not less than 50% marks (45% in case of SC and 40% in case of ST) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the first attempt.
- The candidates, who are applying for B.Tech courses through Assam JAT, should not be above 21 years of age (three years relaxation for SC/ST candidates) and below 17 years of age.
