MD or Doctor of Medicine is a doctoral degree for physicians (medical doctors). The MD degree is granted by medical schools and colleges all over. In India, MD degree is a higher postgraduate degree, representative of specialty training.
Eligibility for the MD course is restricted to those holding the MBBS degree and training is attained in medical disciplines which are non-surgical in nature such as Internal Medicine, Radiology, Pathology etc.
