A petroleum engineer has to deal with different aspects of the field, including exploration of new sources, assessment of the natural characteristics, and production of machines in order to extract and process crude oil. Course Details
Petroleum engineering is offered at undergraduate as well as post graduate levels, by engineering colleges. Minimum qualification for under graduate program is 10+2 in science stream. For post graduate program in the field, the minimum requirement is B.E/B. Tech degree in the relevant subject. The candidates, who have passed M. Sc in chemistry, are also eligible. Various institutions offer education in specific aspect of petroleum engineering, such as petroleum refining and petrochemicals, petroleum exploration and production and mechanical or petroleum science.
